Conversations at the intersection of AI, APIs, and strategy

The Loop Asia is a podcast and newsletter for technology and business professionals across Asia-Pacific. Each episode is a conversation with a practitioner or researcher working at the intersection of AI, APIs, and the technology decisions organisations across the region are navigating right now. The newsletter extends those conversations — analysis and commentary, not aggregation.

The name comes from two ideas that belong together. Feedback loops: the engineering principle that systems learn by observing their own outputs. Human-in-the-loop AI: the idea that human expertise keeps the model honest. Both matter. Both are consistently underused.

The show covers AI in the enterprise, API strategy, security, software engineering, and what technology leadership looks like in practice — with a particular focus on what these shifts mean for the Asia-Pacific region.

About the host

Jon Scheele

Founder, Blue Connector · Organiser, apidays Singapore

Jon started as an electronic engineer in industrial process control, before moving into project management in telecommunications across Asia-Pacific and Europe. He subsequently moved into technology strategy, research, and innovation in financial services, before teaching digital strategy and API architecture as an adjunct lecturer at the National University of Singapore and RMIT.

He founded Blue Connector as an advisory practice working with senior executives in financial services, manufacturing, and professional services who need an independent view on AI, data, and integration investment decisions.

He started The Loop Asia because the conversations he was already having — with practitioners, with conference speakers, with clients figuring out what to do about AI — were worth making public.
